The Pearl of Abruzzo Reds

The king of Central Italy could not be missing from our production: Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. A powerful, long-lived, and expressive red wine, capable of telling the truest essence of Italian agricultural culture.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: It presents itself in the glass with an intense and deep ruby red color. Nose: An enveloping bouquet of plum, blackcurrant, and blueberry, enriched by elegant nuances of violet and a persistent undertone of cocoa and carob. Palate: It is a full and deep wine, characterized by present but well-smoothed tannins, a sign of a balanced and modern structure.

Recommended pairings:
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Le Prunaie enhances strong flavors. It is perfect to accompany:

Main courses of red meat and braised dishes. Game and wild game. Aged cheeses and typical cured meats.

From the Heart of Tradition to Modernity
Our choice to select the best vineyards, among which our Malbec also stands out, stems from the desire to combine the fascinating art of winemaking with a contemporary vision. Each Le Prunaie bottle is a bridge between our family's history and the innovation of today's young producers. In Italy, wine is not just a product of the earth: it is culture, passion, and a life process that unites generations. Our family has embodied this philosophy for decades. For a long time, our vineyards have offered very high-quality grapes to large local producers; today, thanks to the impetus of new generations, that heritage has become the direct expression of our territory under the brand Le Prunaie.

Vinification: The grapes are harvested manually, and after destemming and crushing, fermentation with maceration takes place at a temperature of 24–26 °C for about 10 days. During fermentation, daily pump-overs and delestage are performed to improve the extraction of phenolic substances from the skins and aerate the must. At the end of alcoholic fermentation, racking occurs, and the skins undergo soft pressing. During the grape processing stages, microorganisms capable of colonizing the must are used, performing a bioprotective function against any undesirable microorganisms; this allows us not to use sulfites before and during alcoholic fermentation. Sulfites are added only at the end of alcoholic and malolactic fermentation.
